ISLAMABAD: There were 43 more cases of Covid-19 reported in the capital on Monday, as well as one death, while 20 new cases and a death were reported on Sunday.

The deceased was a resident of G-10, officials said.

Of the new cases, four were reported from H-8, three each from Shah Allah Ditta, G-7, Bhara Kahu, Tarnol, Shahzad Town, G-9, G-6, G-11, G-10 and F-11, and one each from Sohan, Nust, Iqbal Town, I-8, I-10, H-13, Golra, Ghouri Town, G-8, F-8, F-7, G-6, E-9, E-8, D.H.A. II and Bahria Town.

A resident of H-13 also died on Sunday, when six new cases were reported in G-10, followed by two each from G-8, G-7, G-6, F-6 and Bhara Kahu, and one each from Margalla Town, Ghouri Town, D-12 and Chak Shahzad.

Six illegal cattle markets were established in the capital in the last two days, but officials said all of them were removed. Three were set up in the Saddar subdivision, two in the Secretariat and Koral subdivision and one in the City subdivision.

The capital administration on Monday also sealed five shops for violating standard operating procedures (SOP) to limit the spread of the coronavirus, and shopkeepers were fined Rs13,000 for violations as well. Individuals who were seen violating SOPs were fined a total of Rs3,300, they added.

Rawalpindi

Four people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in the Rawalpindi district on Monday, while residents continued to ignore SOPs to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The new cases have brought the number of confirmed cases reported in the district to 6,502.

In addition, 94 patients recovered from the disease and no deaths were reported. There have been 5,901 recoveries recorded in Rawalpindi so far, and 274 deaths.

There are 173 Covid-19 patients isolated in their homes, while local administrations have quarantined 6,803 people who were in close contact with confirmed patients.

The district administration has also sealed shops and imposed fines for SOP violations.
