PESHAWAR/MARDAN: Students of private schools got the top three positions in the results of the secondary school certificate examinations announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar, on Wednesday.
The top position holders are from the science group. Abu Bakkar Siddique from Frontier Students Academy, Shabqadar Fort Charsadda, got first position with 1,094 marks out of 1,100.
Maria Feroz of Peshawar Model School Charsadda, secured second position with 1,080 marks. Masal Khan and Abdul Majid of Peshawar Model School Boys-III shared the third position with 1,078 marks each.
Jaweria Tanveer of Government Girls Model High School, Dabgari Garden, topped the arts group with 1,003 marks. Syeda Javeria Masaud of Iqra Huffaz Secondary School and College for Girls, Warsak Road Peshawar, and Motheera Bint-i-Masood of Forward Girls High School Peshawar City shared the second position with 958 marks each.
The third position went to Ms Anadil of Iqra Huffaz Secondary School and College for Girls, Warsak Road Peshawar, with 946 marks.
Since examinations could not be arranged due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 100 per cent students were declared qualified and marks were given to them on the performance in the 9th grade.
The results were announced at a ceremony held on the premises of the board, where minister for elementary and secondary education Akbar Ayub Khan was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ayub said the government had taken some tough decisions in the education sector in the wake of coronavirus outbreak. He announced that all educational institutions would open on Sept 15.
Our correspondent from Mardan ads: Amna Farooq of Quaid-i-Azam Girls Public School, Swabi, topped the SSC annual examination results with 1,092 marks.
Maboob-ur-Rahman of Model High School, Akora Khattak Nowshera, stood second with 1,090 marks, and Yousra Ali of Quaid-i-Azam Girls Public School, and Palwashwa Noor of Iqra Model School Chargulli Mardan, shared the third position with 1,088 marks each.
In humanities group, Anila Murad of Presentation Convent High School, Risalpur, secured first position with 974 marks, and Umar Farooq of Government Higher Secondary School, Thandkoi Swabi, got second position with 952 marks. Madiha Naz of Government Girls High School, Pati Kalan Mardan, obtained third position by getting 948 marks.
