WHO is calling the shots now? The new twist in the Uzair Baloch saga is the dramatic denial by Uzair Baloch of his confessional statement.

This statement has shocked the law enforcement agencies, who till then were confident that their case, as per his statement, completed the legal requirements against Zardari and company.

Suddenly the entire case against Asif Zardari has collapsed. Even the government has no valid evidence against Uzair Baloch, who now proclaims his innocence on all the crimes he is alleged to have committed.

Zardari and his cronies have succeeded in their claim of innocence and the PPP jiyalas are crowing from the rooftops about the innocence of their leader. The crimes allegedly committed by Zardari are now impossible to prove.

The government was sure of their cases against Zardari which included extortion and murder on the instructions of Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur. In one dramatic move Zardari showed his complete understanding of the Sindh judicial system and he can weave through the intricacies of the legal system.

Suddenly the signatures of ISI, MI, Rangers and IB officials on the JIT report mean nothing. The entire JIT has been rubbished. Zardari now looks like a super desi OJ Simpson.

Let’s take the steps to save Pakistan.
