SWABI, Jan 18: Polio vaccination drops would be administered to some 227,775 children in the district during the three-day campaign beginning on Tuesday. More than 500 teams have been set up to carry out the job.
Members of the WHO and district surveillance officer Dr Wazir Akbar announced this at a press conference on Friday. An official said that in 1983 polio attacked 1,700 children and the number dropped to 500 in 1999, 200 in 2000, and 94 in 2001.—Correspondent
