PESHAWAR: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, chief of army staff (COAS), visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Wednesday.

According to an ISPR press release issued here, the COAS was given detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation, progress on development works & socioeconomic development in the tribal districts.

The COAS appreciated improved security situation and measures for better border management including fencing.

He lauded the security forces for assisting the civil administration for fight against Covid-19, particularly the effective containment efforts.

Earlier, on arrival at the corps headquarters, the COAS was received by Commander Peshawar Corps Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood.
