KHYBER: The Khyber district administration on Monday imposed Section 144, banning swimming in rivers and canals throughout the district.

A notification issued from Khyber House said the step was taken after two young boys drowned in a river in Kam Shalman area of Landi Kotal. It said the ban would remain in place for 30 days.

Meanwhile, the Rescue 1122 continued on Monday its search for the bodies of the two youngsters.

Rescue officials said they also applied for a search operation at the Warsak Dam but were denied permission due to swelling waters.
