DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The chief minister’s adviser on information and public relations Ajmal Wazir has said work on the mega projects of Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal and Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway will commence shortly, which will be a game changer for the people of southern districts in general and Dera in particular.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference after inspection of the district headquarters hospital, Dera, in connection with paying homage to the health workers fighting the Covid-19 pandemic on the frontlines.

Mr Wazir, who is also the provincial government’s spokesperson, claimed that with the support of the health professionals the government was bravely combating the pandemic. He said his visit was in line with the directives of the chief minster to pay homage to doctors, paramedics and all other health staffers, including the Class-IV employees, to commemorate the 100 days of the nation’s fight against Covid-19.

Mr Wazir said his visit was also aimed to personally review the arrangements regarding measures to control spread of coronavirus. He termed the arrangements satisfactory.

The CM’s adviser said the results of smart lockdown were very encouraging in DI Khan. He said in whole of the province the infection recovery rate was increasing which was a positive sign.

He pointed out that Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway and Chashman Right Bank Lift Canal irrigation scheme were discussed by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan with Prime Minister Imran Khan in a recent meeting.
