NEXT year, 2021, the government will be able to end the expensive Qatar RLNG supply contract. It should select an organisation or person who should ensure this end of the supply contract goes smoothly.
A notice for ending the contract should be given within the stipulated time. Since under the contract Pakistan had to pay in advance for six shipments, a mechanism should be agreed upon the return of extra payment from Qatar on time.
Similarly, alternative cheaper LNG supply should be secured or each organisation should be asked to secure its own LNG supplies.
