LAHORE: Prof Rashid Misbah – a well-known intellectual of the Left, an art critique, writer, lawyer, and political activist – died here on Wednesday after suffering cardiac arrest. He was 67.

He left behind a wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his death. He was buried later in the day.

With degrees in economics, commerce and law, Prof Rashid had taught at the Punjab University, Islamia College Civil Lines and finally set up his own law college, where he trained young lawyers.

The writer of three books of short stories and a novel, Prof Rashid had been active member of almost all literary societies in the country.
