QUETTA: A number of opposition parties filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court on Wednesday challenging the provincial Public Sector Development Programme for 2020-21.
The BHC, after an initial hearing, issued notices to the authorities asking them to submit all PSDP records.
The opposition has argued in the petition that the government violated the guidelines spelt out by the Planning Commission in preparing the PSDP as it ignored the constituencies that elected members of the opposition in the 2018 general election.
The constitutional petition has been filed jointly by Balochistan National Party- Mengal, Pakhtunkhwa Awami
Party, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and former chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani.
The High Court will now take up the petition on July 13.
