RAWALPINDI, Jan 18: About 100 people gathered near Liaqat Bagh to hold a rally in support of President Gen Pervez Musharaf while the Ulema in their Friday sermons lambasted the government for its pro-American and “anti-religious” policies.

Nasreen Malik of the “Musharraf Tehrik” in her speech on the occasion said the president had made very judicious decisions in steering the country out of the crises. India should respond positively to the president’s speech, she added.

She was all praises for the government’s electoral reforms as well.—Staff Reporter
