CHAGAI: Several roofs and boundary walls of mud houses collapsed and a few trees were uprooted on Tuesday after a windstorm followed by rains lashed some parts of Yakmach, Guwanakkoh and surrounding areas of Chagai district on Tuesday.

However, no loss of lives was reported.

Local people said that heavy rains continued for 15 to 20 minutes, disrupting power supply as some power transmission line, a few poles and transformers were damaged.

Moderate flash floods were also seen in Padag, Chehattar, Chagai, Posti and Guwanakkoh after the rains.

The downpour decreased the intensity of hot weather in major parts of Chagai district.
