LAHORE: The 58th meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the Pakistan Cricket Board will be held online on Friday morning.

Some of the key issues that will be discussed in the virtual session are the reports of Chairman and CEO of the PCB with reference to the Model Constitution for Cricket Clubs and Club Affiliation and Operations Rules, the 2020-21 budget and updates on HBL Pakistan Super League.

It was learnt that PCB as well as the six franchises of the PSL have some dispute over certain areas mainly related to finances and it is likely the BoG will give a guideline to the PCB how to deal with those disputes.

As far as the the model constitution for cricket clubs, it will be the last step to revamp the domestic cricket, based on six cricket associations namely Central Punjab, Southern Punjab, Northern, Sindh, Balochistan and KP.

However, the PCB is yet to form the bodies of the six cricket associations as the domestic system is currently not functional, according to the PCB’s new constitution, which has been implemented since August 19, 2019.

The main reason behind it is one of the clauses under which all six cricket associations have to be registered Under the Society-Act.

The PCB is hopeful for the registration of the cricket association in one month’s time.
