HYDERABAD, Sept 12: Parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Sindh Assembly Kanwar Naveed Jameel is being tipped as candidate for the district nazim post.
He submitted his nomination papers on Monday to the returning officer concerned.
In addition, 44 candidates, including 29 women, also filed nomination papers to different returning officers for reserved seats of taluka and district councils.
Kanwar Naveed Jameel, a former MNA and the first zonal organizer of MQM Hyderabad had gone to London a few days back and had returned on Sunday. He was elected to the Sindh Assembly from Karachi in 2002 general elections.
Twelve women, two labour and three minority candidates filed forms for reserved seats of the district council.
Besides, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Dr Mohammad Arif Khilji, a former MPA also filed his nomination for the district nazim slot.
In taluka city, ten women and one minority candidates submitted their nomination forms followed by submission of forms by five women, two peasant and worker and one minority candidates for Latifabad taluka.
Sabir Qaimkhani has filed his candidature for Latifabad taluka nazim seat. In Hyderabad (rural) taluka, two candidates each for labour and women submitted forms for reserved seats whereas one minority candidate, Amar Das filed his candidature for Qasimabad taluka.
RECRUITMENT: The Army Selection and Recruitment Centre has announced mobile recruitment schedule for September 2005.
Recruitment mobile team will be available in Jhuddo (Sept 13), Sanghar (Sept 15), and Nawabshah (Sept 16).
