This TVC is proof that Saba Qamar is the country's unequivocal style icon. Here's how

The woman adds the right spark to Cola Next's latest campaign that urges us to brace up and do something extraordinary.
Updated 05 Jun, 2020

Cola Next recently launched their latest TVC starring Saba Qamar, and we can't help but adore how she drops an absolutely effortless performance.

Above everything else, we're glad a female protagonist finally became the face of a Cola brand. We don't see that happening everyday now, do we?

Let's discuss more of what we like about this campaign:

The ad portrays Saba Qamar exactly like she is

..strong and absolutely unapologetic!

If there's one actor who doesn't shy away from being their real, honest self on camera, it's Saba Qamar.

The lady minces no words when it comes to calling out problematic behaviour in reel and real life - and her awesome YouTube content.

Nobody 'levels up' better than Saba Qamar

From playing the roles of a small town girl to becoming the face of the country's most glamourous ad films, Saba has seen it all, done it all and we'd say, achieved it all.

We can't think of another name from the industry who would've matched her style and performance for this storyline.

The woman sure adds the right spark to Cola Next's latest campaign that urges us to brace up and get to the #NextLevel.

The ad makes some careful, bold and super solid choices to create different looks

She's riding bikes, fighting the bad guys, walking a ramp, busting her favourite moves, and gracefully carrying some stunning red and white outfits that add just the right flavour to her performance.

The storyline reminds us that Pakistani women are strong, beautiful and super capable

Even the most empowered women sometimes need a reminder of their own capabilities and prowess.

We find it refreshing that this TVC puts a woman in the lead to celebrate her true potential; Saba Qamar is seen effortlessly flipping roles as an actress, fashion icon, stunt performer and fighter.

About Cola Next's latest campaign

Picking up the idea of empowering women all over, Cola Next steps in with this feel-good TVC to remind us that not all cola brands have to choose the traditional route of storytelling.

We feel the campaign chooses the right people, places and time to tell the audience to level up, and do their best to leave behind all fears and apprehensions.

This shows clearly how the marketers will use womens as eye candy to attract costumer s. This is not women empowerment.. Its the opposite of that actually.

Please stay away from Sugary drinks/coloas. Celebs should not promote colas. Bad for your health- Bad for Pakistan.

And not just a pretty face either as her performance in 'Hum Sab Umeed Se Hai" proved that. She has also worked in many tv dramas and movies and show-cased her talent for acting.

while I appreciate that we finally have a non male dominated ad for a drink enjoyed by let's be real, EVERYONE and not just men, this ad falls into the trope of oooh let's use a sexy women who caters even more to all our male viewers. like good on you for being a badass girl who drinks coke and kicks men but why does she have to be super sexualised? dont be blind to how objectifying this ad was especially considering how often women are compared to coca cola bottles in Pakistan and India. this isn't empowerment. stop using that to promote your capitalist brand and talk about how you can really empower the women of Pakistan especially those most marginalised. White feminism isn't the be all and end all. There are intersectionalities within feminism that we should recognise, stand up for and advocate

I love Saba. She is a pretty and clever lady. Perfect combination. But I just don't like the video much. First why is Next Cola copying the red theme from Coca-Cola? Why not own your brand and not imitate? Not loving the catsuit look either. Not because I have anything against catsuits. I guess it just isn't for every body. Still nice to see something new from Saba but I want to see a drama from her soon or maybe a Saba Qamar production!

@Fatima I don't think she looks old. In fact she is in better shape than many women her age and older. She is a very attractive young woman. But yes she is human, and naturally she will age, as will you. Ageing doesn't have to be unfortunate. Should show biz only accept females between 15-29?because that is ageism and then we must also apply to the male stars. No more 40+ and 50+ men cast with young 18-19 years old girls or even 20+. Right?

@Arifa Khan actually, empowerment means choice. To be able to choose your path even, if you or I don't agree with that path. You will find women and their physical beauty, curves, bodies, are utilized and objectified even for socalled hijabi fashion and makeup brands. You can find many such headdovering fashion and MUA influencers with thousands and hundred of thousands of followers on social media. Objectification of women happen even when they are dressed in loose dress or covering their heads. But I think you should contact NEXT Cola and give them your ideas for a better ad campaign and give critique on their social media like insta and twitter. So they know how you feel. Feedback is important. That's how things change.
