KHAR: Two people were killed when a bomb hit a moto­rcycle in Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district on Thursday.

Witnesses and police officials said the bomb blast took place at round 5:00pm near Damadola locality, about 12km from Khar.

They said that Abdur Rahman and his friend Ismail Khan were going to their village Damadola from Inayat Kalli bazaar on the motorcycle when in a dry canal, the bomb went off, seriously injuring the two friends.

They said several people working in nearby fields rushed to the place of the bomb blast and took the injured to Khar DHQ hospital.

They said Abdur Rahman died on way to the hospital while Ismail Khan died during treatment.

The deceased belonged to Damadola locality. Ismail Khan was a teacher in a government school in the area.
