GHALANAI: The residents of Shanikhel, Tarokhel and Sultankhel area protested power outages and blocked roads here on Monday.

The protesters complained about prolonged, unscheduled loadshedding and shouted slogans against Wapda.

They said the power cuts had forced women to draw water for drinking and other household purposes from wells with the help of ropes in the scorching heat.

The protesters blocked the Bajaur-Peshawar Road and Khapkh-i-Khoizai Baizai Road suspending traffic.

They said if the Wapda didn’t ensure smooth power supply, they would stage protests across the district.
