KARACHI, Sept 9: The central admission committee for colleges on Friday released the placement list of 12,295 male candidates selected for admission to pre-engineering first year classes at government colleges and higher secondary schools.

EDO Higher Education, Prof Rais Alvi, said the applicants, who could not be placed for admission, would be accommodated in other faculties as per options given by them.

He said 12,295 students had been selected for admission to 54 male institutions. The overall faculty list began at 797 marks and closes at 425 marks, he added.

The placement lists gave to understand that opening and closing marks for different colleges had slightly increased as compared to the last year’s figures.

The closing marks for DJ Science College and Adamjee Science College were recorded as 697 and 725 while the cut off marks for the two colleges were 688 and 721 respectively last year.

A total of 701 students have been given admission in Jamia Millia Degree College, followed by National College (650); Islamia Science College (623) and DJ College (601).
