SARGODHA: An army man and his family drowned in the canal on Monday night near Bakhar Bar (Tehsil Shahpur), some 35 kilometers from here.
The Saddar DSP said army man Muhammad Aamir, his wife Sumbal Bibi (23), sister-in-law Iram Bibi and three-month-old daughter Sehar riding a bike were on their way back home to Khushab after meeting their relatives when the two-wheeler fell into the canal in Shahpur police precincts.
Rescue 1122 have recovered bodies of the family members.
Meanwhile, the Mangla corps commander has expressed grief over the incident.
