LAHORE, Sept 4: Three matches were decided in the fourth national U-17 football championship at the Ayub Stadium, Quetta. Punjab outclassed Northern Areas 2-0 Muhammad Naseem gave Punjab 1-0 lead by scoring a field goal in the 20th minute. Muhammad Irfan doubled the lead in the 67th minute.
Islamabad held NWFP to a 1-1 draw, after a goalless first half.
For NWFP Asadullah Khan scored in the 48th minute. Islamabad equalised through Fahadullah Khan in the 62nd minute. Sindh and Balochistan remained goalless in the third match of the day.
The PFF will pick the national team from the championship which will take on India in qualifying round of the AFC under-17 championship on Nov 13.
The two South Asian teams will also take on Tajikistan in three-nation Group-G.
Wohaib Club, Lahore named its team for the championship.
The other players are: Muhammad Ahmed (captain), Jibran Butt, Muhammad Nadeem, Ibrar, Javed Khan, Sohail Shabbir, Fahad Bashir, Muhammad Azhar, Muhammad Adeel, Muhammad Rasheed, Shiraz Ahmed, Muhammad Rasheed, Muhammad Khurram, Muhammad bin Wasim, Mujahid and Abdul Haseeb.
