ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: The Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) is conducting a survey on the estimation of purchasing power parity in the country. An official announcement issued on Thursday stated that the survey would be conducted under international comparison programme (ICP phase vii) under the auspices of the United Nations Statistical Division (UNSD).
The task is being coordinated globally by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) aiming at international comparison in terms of GDP, per capita income, consumption and investment in 160 countries.
For this purpose, a special survey had been started from April 2005 for collection of data for about 600 matching items that had been identified by the ADB. The survey was scheduled to be completed by December 2005 and as per programme, the final results would be disseminated by December 2006, added the announcement.
