CHAKWAL/ATTOCK: A young man died while five people were injured in roof collapse incidents in Chakwal and Attock on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122, owners of a grocery shop on Bhoun Road in Chakwal city had gotten concrete construction work done on the roof of the shop but the old wooden roof was left to be removed later.

On Sunday, as they entered the shop, it collapsed.

Rescue 1122 workers retrieved the body of Ali Jan, 20, from the wreckage.

Three people, including a minor, were injured when the roof of their mud house collapsed due to heavy rain in Ikhlas village of Pindigheb tehsil in Attock.

Police and hospital sources said 35-year-old Sajid, his wife and two-year-old daughter were injured.

The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the minor’s condition was critical.
