KARACHI: Revoking an earlier order, the city administration on Saturday ordered that all bakeries would stay closed during the lockdown period till April 14.

A corrigendum issued by the city commissioner said that “all bakeries and E-commerce activities related to essential items shall remain closed during the lockdown period ie 14th April, 2020”.

The administration which had initially closed all bakeries during the lockdown, on Friday allowed bakeries to remain open from 8am to 5pm, but ordered all sweet shops to remain closed.

The official sources said that the order for closure of bakeries was issued because social distancing was not being maintained there.
