LAHORE: Various teams of the City District Administration on Thursday sealed four known departmental stores either for not following the SOPs related to queue management (social distancing) or for overcharging.

According to a spokesman, the teams led by the City and Shalimar assistant commissioners, sealed Euro Store (Shalimar Zone) and Jalal Sons, Al-Fateh Store and Al-Rahim Store in Allama Iqbal Zone. The Euro Store was sealed allegedly for overcharging while the remaining three were closed because of not maintaining social distancing through queue management as advised by the government. “The manager of the store involved in overcharging was also arrested. Moreover, a team in DHA imposed a fine of Rs15,000 on various shopkeepers for overcharging.

Meanwhile, Lahore DC Danish Afzaal says as many as 1,000 suspected Covid-19 people kept at Kala Shah Kaku Quarantine Centre are being provided with adequate food including fruits on a daily basis. He said the people must stay home to protect themselves and others from the coronavirus.
