KARACHI, Aug 30: Sewage has been overflowing on Gharibabad Road near Madina Masjid in Malir Town’s UC-6 area for the past several weeks resulting in extremely filthy conditions.

Area people have lamented the authorities’ attitude towards their problems.

They said that the town officials were neither taking interest in removing fault in the sewerage line, nor were any steps being taken for regular removal of garbage.

They said that the sewage overflow could damage the road if it was not checked, and could also result in the spread of diseases.

Complaints of sewage overflow have also been received from parts of Lyari, including D. D. Chaudhry Road, Baghdadi Road.

At a number of places, stagnant water is resulting in the growth of mosquitoes and other insects.
