Unsung heroes

Published March 31, 2020

DESPITE a minimal health budget and lack of required medical equipment to effectively deal with the outbreak of Covid-19, doctors and paramedics in Pakistan are putting up a relentless fight against this pandemic.

The pandemic has created unprecedented difficulties for governments, peoples and, most importantly, doctors themselves around the world, Pakistan in particular. Being our first line of defence in this fight against Covid-19, the doctors are selflessly devoting their services to the cause of eliminating the epidemic without seeking any reward in return. The late Dr Osama Riaz is one example.

In this hour of difficulty, the people of Pakistan must not forget the services being rendered by our doctors and paramedical staff who have taken the pandemic head-on. Doctors are our unsung heroes indeed.
