KASUR: Eleven coronavirus cases were reported from Kasur, Lodhran and Sheikhupra on Monday.

A one-year-old infant with special needs tested positive for coronavirus at Rehmanpura locality in Allahabad. The patient is the son of an army officer who was also screened positive in Gujranwala last week. The officer had travelled to Karachi from Gujranwala and met his family on March 22 at the railway station of Allahabad.

Chunian AC Adnan Badar confirmed the case, saying this was the first case of coronavirus in the district.

The tehsil administration was alerted when the official was declared positive for the virus in Gujranwala and informed the authorities that he had met his family at the railway station of the town.

The tehsil administration took blood samples of the wife, four children and parents of the army officer some three days back, and of them only the toddler was tested positive.

The tehsil administration took custody of the child and shifted him to Lahore.

LODHRAN: Two people, including a Tableeghi Jamaatmember, both in their 20s, tested positive for the virus in Lodhran.

According to Dr Qurban, focal person the Lodhran DHQ Hospital, one patient was 29-year-old who traveled with the preaching congregation from Azad Kashmir to Islamabad before returning to hometown Lodhran.

The other patient is a 25-years-old, who was in Lahore recently where he shared a hostel room with a man who was a patient of flu and fever. The man arrived to Lodhran via Jaffer Express on March 24 at Bahawalpur station where he was received by his elder brother. Both patients were admitted to the DHQ hospital on March 29.

Also, a coronavirus patient from Khanewal was shifted to the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital in Muzaffargarh while his 14 family members were shifted to a quarantine centre in Khanewal where they tested negative.

According to a statement of DC Agha Zaheer Abbas, the family will remain in quarantine for two weeks while their village has been put under complete lockdown.

SHEIKHUPURA: Eight family members of a couple already declared coronavirus patients also tested positive in Kumharpura locality in Mandi Faizabad, Nankana.

The couple returned from Saudi Arabia after performing Umra and tested positive for the virus. Their results also put their family under spotlight. After medical reports, they all were quarantined in their house, while the movement of about 200 inmates of the locality has been restricted.
