GILGIT: The University of Baltistan has announced to waive off the tuition fee of all the students enrolled in the spring semester 2020.

According to a notification issued by the varsity on Saturday, in the wake of novel coronavirus outbreak and subsequent crisis, the University of Baltistan had waived off tuition fee for spring semester 2020 for all the students.

The notification said Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Naeem Khan had taken the decision keeping in view the economic handicaps in these difficult times. It said the decision would benefit over 1,000 students.

Meanwhile, the students lauded the decision, saying that other educational institutions, both public and private, should follow the suit.
