KARACHI: A Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) case was reported at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Saturday.
JPMC executive director Dr Seemin Jamali said that a 40-year-old man, a resident of Pak Colony, was reported in emergency department with Congo fever-related complications. She said the patient was a butcher. This was the first Congo patient reported in JPMC this year so far, she added. Experts said Congo fever is a fatal viral disease that spreads through a tick bite.
