KARACHI, Aug 26: Nine ships including two carrying sugar and pulses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where eight ships, Iran Sattari, APL Orchid, Argonaut to unload and load containers, Panama Express, Ryoma and Le Jin, to unload and load general cargo, Ocean Ranger to offload coal and Celtic Terrier to unload crude oil were berthed after the departure of 11 vessels.

The ships, which departed included Corn Thaikos, Global Princess, Hyundai Advance, APL Orchid, Kota Wajar, Argonaut, Bagi, Ince Pacific, Fifi Queen and Pacific Express, while Banglar Urmi, Iran Satterim Harmonym Sinar Bontang and Wan Hai-265 are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage rose to 0.102m tons comprising 17,448 tons of export cargo and 84,273 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Pangani, with 13,800 tons of sugar, Kang Fu, with 11,000 tons of yellow peas, Song Shi Hai, with 25,000 tons of steel scarp, Khairpur, Arihant, with general cargo, Banglar Doot, Iran Kordestan, Astor and Sagamore, with containers.
