LAHORE: The PML-N has submitted a privileged motion in the Punjab Assembly, seeking investigation into removal of 35 officials of the Auqaf and police departments from their posts in the wake of the visit of Bushra Bibi, wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan, to Baba Farid Ganjshakar’s shrine in Pakpattan.

PML-N MPA Rabia Farooqi filed the resolution in the assembly on Tuesday drawing attention of the House to transfer of about three dozen Auqaf and police officials from Pakpattan for their failure to accord ‘due protocol’ to the first lady during her visit to the shrine.

Meanwhile, the PML-N has demanded the government make public the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) report about flour and sugar crises in the country.

PML-N Punjab information secretary Azma Bokhari said both Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bhaktiar had disappeared after making billions of rupees from the sugar and flour crises. She said the government raids should be conducted at the mills of both PTI stalwarts to recover sugar.

Reacting to the government’s raid at Ittefaq Sugar Mills in Bahawalpur in which some 55,000 sugar bags were recovered, Ms Bokhari said the Sharif family had nothing to do with the Ittefaq Sugar Mills. She said Imran Khan Niazi had recruited an army of spokespersons whose only job was to target the Sharif family and the PML-N.
