LAHORE: A 10-year-old boy died on Sunday due to the alleged torture of a seminary teacher in Kahna.

Gulfam studied at a religious seminary in Ismailpura in Hayer area of Kahna. His condition worsened after allegedly being tortured brutally by Qari Bilal and Shoaib. He was admitted to a nearby hospital, but could not survive. Police have taken the suspects into custody and were investigating the matter.

FOUND DEAD: The body of a woman was recovered from a hostel in Nawab Town on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Sahar Khan, 25, was living in the hostel for three years. She had allegedly contracted love marriage a few years ago, but lived away from her husband after developing differences.

The couple also had a five-year-old son, who lived with his father. She was also reported to be suffering from hyper tension.

On Sunday, Khan went to sleep in her room but when she did not come out in the morning, she was found dead and her body recovered by police after breaking the door. A police team collected forensic evidences from the crime scene and recorded statements of the witnesses.

Initial investigations suggested that she died of a heart seizure. Further investigations would help ascertain the cause of her death. Police were investigating the matter.
