THATTA: Three persons, including a woman and a boy, travelling in a private van along with four others were killed when their vehicle was hit by a pick-up near Makli bypass on the outskirts of Thatta on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Mr Hamzo, Ms Asma and a boy, Momin.

Initial reports suggested that the seven occupants of the van belonged to Karachi and were on their way back home after visiting the Shah Yaqeeq shrine near Chauhar Jamali town when their vehicle met with the accident while it was passing through Gandra village.

The victims were transported to the Makli Civil Hospital where the injured persons were provided emergency treatment and referred to a Karachi hospital due to their serious condition. The bodies were handed over to the heirs after medico-legal formalities.
