NOWSHERA: Imtiaz Ali, 30, the Pakistan Army soldier, who was martyred in Indian firing across the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Choki Drab area of Pabbi here on Friday.

People belonging to different walks of life, including politicians, teachers, lawyers, government and army officials, attended the funeral prayers of the martyred soldier.

The people also visited the hujra of the deceased and offered Fateha for the departed soul.

The deceased was laid to rest amid official protocol by the army personnel.

Talking to reporters, father of the martyred soldier, said it was matter of pride for his family that his young son had embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.

The family said Imtiaz Ali had married four years ago, but had no child.

Meanwhile, according to a statement by Inter-Service Public Relations, Indian army troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations in Kayani sector of Leepa valley. “The Indian fire was responded to effectively by Pak Army troops,” the statement said, adding an army soldier embraced martyrdom while defending the motherland.
