MINGORA: Leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami, Swat chapter, have said that the party would launch a countrywide campaign against price hike and unemployment.

JI Swat district chief Mohammad Ameen told a press conference here that the campaign titled “Awami March” would be launched by JI chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday (tomorrow) from Green Chowk in Mingora.

“The Awami March will start from Green Chowk in Mingora and conclude at Nishat Chowk where the leaders will address participants of the rally,” he said, adding that afterwards rallies would kick off across the country.

Mr Ameen said that Sirajul Haq would visit the Swat district on Sunday and lead the rally. He condemned that district administration for removing banners of his party from Mingora.

“We had installed hundreds of banners about the visit of party chief Sirajul Haq and Awami March at different points of Swat, but the district administration removed them,” he claimed, adding that the administration’s move showed that the government was under pressure.

He said that the PTI government had failed to address the issues of general public and instead of giving them relief it increased the burden of increased prices on them. He invited people from all walks of life to participate in the JI march against what he called the injustices of the government.
