KARACHI, Aug 22: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui visited the residence of JI leader Prof Ghafoor Ahmed in F B Area and inquired about the report of firing at his house and hurling of explosive inside.

According to an official statement, Prof Ghafoor contradicted the report, saying that neither his house was fired upon, nor was any cracker thrown inside. However, some people riding cars and motorcycles resorted to aerial firing in the street. The incident occurred on Thursday night.

The minister, after inquiring about the incident from the concerned TPO and SHO, said that they had no information about the reported attack.

Prof Ghafoor said that he had neither reported this at ‘15’ nor had he informed the area police.

“Prof Ghafoor Ahmed is a notable personality of Pakistan and he is respected by everyone,” Mr Siddiqui remarked, and advised Prof Ghafoor to take care about his security and not to trust anyone.—APP
