HYDERABAD, Jan 16: The villagers of goth Tando Mir Noor Mohammad, unit No 4, Latifabad, under the banner of Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday against the excesses of Abdul Qavi Siddiqui.
Speaking at the rally, Gulsher Solangi said that for the last 50 years they had been living in village Tando Mir Mohammad and had the evidence to prove their proprietary rights.
He said that the civil court had already given decision in favour of the villagers but Qavi Siddiqui was an influential person and through his goons he was threatening them with dire consequences if they did not vacate their homes.
He appealed to the Sindh governor and Zila Nazim to take notice of his and protect the lives and properties of the villagers.
Taraqqi Passand leaders, Saleh Junejo, Muzaffar Kalhoro, Shafi Solangi and others said that through the power of his money, Abdul Qavi Siddiqui was trying to expel the villagers from their homes.
SSC PART II RESULTS: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, here on Wednesday announced the results of Secondary School Certificate part-II (Class X) supplementary examination 2001 of Science and General groups.
The pass percentage remained 83.32.
In the science group 27299 candidates including 7516 girls appeared in the examination, out of which 22746 candidates were declared successful. The result of 70 students has been withheld for one or the other reason.
In the general group 527 candidates including 361 girls appeared in the examination, out of which 367 candidates were declared successful. The result of 21 students has been withheld.
Meanwhile, the controller of examination of the board has notified that the candidates who appeared at the supplementary examination and have failed to qualify can appear in the SSC part-II annual examination 2002.
The last date for submission of the examination forms without late fee has been fixed at Jan 31 and with late fee of Rs100 at Feb 11.
The annual examination will commence from March 4.
