PTF president retired Lt Col Raja Wasim Ahmed claimed the Pakistani contingent will be the biggest ever in the country’s sports history.

“In the history of Pakistan, this will be the biggest contingent of any sports federation to participate in an international event as we are going to send more than 100 athletes and officials for this event,” Wasim told Dawn.

A press release issued by the federation said the contingent will be backed by sponsors, self financing and donors as per

the directives of the minister for inter-provincial coordination, the patron PTF and the Pakistan Sports Board.

Around 2,000 male and female athletes from different countries will feature and book their registration to participate in the event.

“This will also help Pakistani athletes to prepare for upcoming International Competitions which is going to be held in October in Islamabad,” the statement said.
