SWABI: The police recovered a kidnapped man hailing from Matta, Swat, two weeks after the incident, and arrested two suspects here on Tuesday.

This was stated by DSP Khursheed Khanzada while talking to mediapersons here.

The Zaida police station had registered an FIR on the complaint of one Khusheed Ali on Jan 9, who had stated that his brother, Falak Naz, had gone to Swabi Judicial Complex to appear in a family case, but did not return home.

He told the police that relations between his brother and wife had deteriorated, and the latter had filed a marriage dissolution case in the local court. The woman belonged to Bachai village of Swabi.

Ali said that his brother’s cell phone was switched off, and demanded that the police recover him.

DSP Khanzada said that they had constituted a team led by SHO Raz Mohammad, which used modern techniques to trace the abducted person.

“Falak Naz was recovered from the Bachai village and his two abductors were also arrested,” he said, adding that the victim had been handed over to the family soon afterwards.

In the preliminary investigation, the abductors confessed that they had taken Falak Naz away to get some money, and pressure him to withdraw from the court case in favour of his wife. The abductors were named Majid Khan and Laiq Zaman of Bachai village.
