FOR some inexplicable reason the government has raised postal charges manifold in a span of a year. Previously an ordinary letter cost eight rupees. This has been raised to Rs20. This has imposed a great burden on the poor who still use postal services.
That is not all: many post offices have been closed in various, localities bringing hardship to the public. The post office located near Faisal mosque was a busy one as it catered to the needs of more than 50,000 people including the students and staff of International Islamic University, Islamabad, besides residents of Islamabad’s E-7 Sector. The closure of the post office has caused many problems for people using this post office.
This is an appeal to the government to reduce postage charges and reopen closed post offices especially the one that was operating in the vicinity of the Faisal Mosque and the IIU, Islamabad.
