MANSEHRA: The police on Thursday arrested a man for molesting and filming a five-year-old female member of the family.

A resident of Bisham area complained the police that he had left his minor daughter at his sister’s house in Mansehra last month where her husband molested the five-year-old and filmed the act on his mobile phone.

Mohsin Shah, lawyer for the girl, told reporters that the police registered a case against the accused before arresting him and seizing molestation videos in a raid on his house.

He said as the child molestation incidence was on the rise in the area, the police should ensure severe punishment of the accused to prevent such cases.

FLOUR AT SUBSIDISED RATE: The district food department has begun the mobile sale of wheat flour in different areas of Mansehra at subsidised rate.

The development comes as the price of 20kg flour bag goes up by Rs13 in the open market.

With the wheat flour procured from Punjab being sold at Rs65 per kg on the market, the administration is selling it for Rs40 per kg.

There are also reports of flour shortage in parts of Baffa-Pakhal, Balakot and Oghi tehsils and urban parts of Mansehra.

An official order issued by the district food controller said on the special orders of food minister Qalandar Lodhi, the flour mills of Mansehra district supplied with wheat quota at subsidised rate would ensure flour supply to various localities on a daily basis by trucks.

The mills will sell subsidised wheat flour to various areas of Mansehra city and its suburbs, College Doraha, Shinkiari, Baffa, Oghi, Balakot, Garhi Habibullah, Lassan Nawab, Pulrah, Barkund, Khawjgan and Khaki on alternate days.

OATH: The office-bearers of Torghar Clerks Association took oath of their respective offices on Thursday.

Former district councillor Ahmad Sheryar Khan administered the oath to them during a special ceremony attended by deputy commissioner Arshad Mansoor and others.
