PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday appointed Engr Mohammad Naeem Khan as the chief executive officer of Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (Pedo) for a period of four years.

The organisation was without a regular head since the June 7, 2017 order of the Peshawar High Court, declaring appointment of Akbar Ayub as the organisation’s head illegal.

A notification issued here said that the provincial government was pleased to appoint Engr Mohammad Naeem Khan as CEO Pedo on contract basis for a period of four years with immediate effect.

Mr Naeem had previously served as secretary irrigation, energy and power departments of the province.
