KARACHI: A hat-trick by Olympian Kashif Jawwad helped Pak Veterans Greens bulldoze T & T Veterans by a massive margin of 8-0 in the second Veterans Hockey League at the Dr. M. A. Shah-Olympian Islahuddin Hoc­key Academy on Saturday.

Kashif slammed goals in the fifth, seventh and 18th minutes. He was followed by Qamar Ibrahim and Mohammad Ali who netted two goals apiece while Sameer Hussain chipped in with the last goal.

In the second match, Moovers Veterans chalked up a 4-1 victory over Pak Flag Veterans. Irfan Ali (2), Kamran Ather and Iqbal Abbasi, earned the scoring honours for the winners. Tariq Maqsood scored consolation goal for the losers.

The third match between Pak Veterans Reds and Airport Veterans was put off due to the sudden demise of Tasneem Usmani’s mother.

As many as 16 teams are competing in the event and have been equally divided into four pools. The top two sides from each pool will qualify for the super eight stage. The matches are being played on Saturdays only.
