KARACHI: The PCB Dynamites finally ended their losing streak by ending the winning run of the PCB Blasters in the ongoing National Triangular T20 Women’s Championship here at the National Stadium on Sunday.

In their third outing in the competition on a chilly overcast day, the Dynamites easily reached the target of 147 by making 150-3 to claim their first points with two balls to spare. The star of the chase was Omaima Sohail who batted sensibly to score an unbeaten 53.

Omaima shepherded the chase nicely after coming in at 43-2. Her 44-ball effort included five boundaries and a six. Kainat Hafeez also played a fine hand by striking an entertaining 39 off 28 deliveries with the help of six fours. Kainat and Omaima shared a third-wicket partnership of 57.

Omaima, who was named player-of-the-match, and Irum Javed (20 off 18 balls, one six and one four) put on exactly 50 for the unbroken fourth-wicket stand. Skipper Nahida Khan scored run-a-ball 19 with three boundaries at the top of the order.

Earlier the Blasters failed to build on a second-wicket partnership of 92 from 69 balls in 49 minutes between Javeria Wadood Khan and Javeria Rauf as they managed just 146-6 in their stipulated 20 overs.

After Ayesha Naseem was run out for a duck, the two unrelated Javerias pushed the total to 93 in the 13th over when Javeria Rauf was also run out for a 33-ball 38 (four fours). Javeria Wadood Khan fell shortly afterwards for a top-score of 43 from 39 balls with six boundaries.

Wicket-keeper Sidra Nawaz remained undefeated with a 12-ball 20 (three fours) when the overs ran out.

The experienced former Pakistan skipper Sana Mir bowled tidily to grab two wickets for 19 runs in her four overs of off-spin.

The Blasters will be again in action on Monday when they meet the PCB Challengers.
