QUETTA: The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) hosted a closing ceremony after the completion of the Capacity Development Programme of Student Assessment 2019-20.

The 30 successful participants of the programme were acknowledged for completing the long and rigorous training of AKU-EB.

Dr Shehzad Jeeva, Director of the AKU-EB, welcomed the attendees of the programme, which was held in collaboration with the Balochistan government and the European Union.

“Assessment is one of the critical components of education. We use our expertise and research to help improve outcomes in education by working at provincial and national level in all areas of assessment and examination,” he said. “We will continue to work with GoB and Unicef to assist you in achieving in your goal so that the investment you make in education reform has the impact you want in your education system.”

Over the course of 12 months, AKU-EB provided a roadmap and technical support to build the capacity of various institutions on student assessment from education sector of Balochistan, including the Balochistan Assessment and Examination Commission, the Bureau of Curriculum, Policy, Planning and Implementation Unit, the Directorate of Schools and the Professional Institute of Teacher Education.

“By June 2010, GoB will be able to capitalise the expertise of around 100 student assessment experts, 20 master trainers and 20 educational researchers, many of whom have already started to improve the assessment and influence policies,” said Dr Naveed Yousaf, Project Director and Associate Director, Assessment and Research, AKU-EB.
