KARACHI, Aug 17: Five ships carrying rock phosphate, railway engines and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity the wharves was modest where four ships, Cape Bona Vista, APL Pusan, Eax Sanctity, to unload and load containers, and Blue Star to offload and load general cargo.

Sailing on the other hand was active as seven ships, Ever Guard, Yang Jiang He, Troyburg, Cape Bona Vista, Xiang Rui Men, Bow De Jin and Hannibal-2 departed, while Asha Ashik, Blue Star and Pontoporos are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 68,089 tons comprising 20,988 tons of export cargo including 4,300 tons of rice and 786 tons of cement and 47,101 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Y.M. Faha, Kota Wangsa, Golden Express, with containers, Shang Yuan Men, with 15,300 tons of rock phosphate and Tilos, with railway engines.
