ISLAMABAD: At least 18 people were injured in a gas cylinder blast at a restaurant in the Jinnah Super Market area on Saturday night.

According to police, the condition of five of the injured is serious.

The injured, mostly from the restaurant’s kitchen staff, have sustained burn injuries and wounds from flying shards of windowpanes.

Preliminarily findings suggest the blast took place because of a gas leak.
