National Day of Bahrain celebrated

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed hosted a reception to celebrate Bahrain’s national day, which commemorates the establishment of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 178, the 48th anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations and the 20th anniversary of the king’s ascension to the throne.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad was invited as the the guest of honour, and he conveyed the regards of the government to the people of Bahrain.

Senior officials, members of parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps and other dignitaries attended the event. Also present were businessmen who work with Bahrain and students from Bahrain and GCC countries currently studying in Pakistan.

Anniversary of Qatar’s founder ascension

Ambassador of Qatar Saqr Bin Mubarak Al Mansouri celebrated the anniversary of the ascension of Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohamed Bin Thani, the founder of the state of Qatar to the throne.

Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar was invited as the chief guest. He spoke of the multifaceted relationship between the two countries, saying: “Pakistan values its ties with the brotherly state and the Qatari investment in various sectors of Pakistan is contributing to the country’s economic prosperity and progress.”

Ambassador Mansouri discussed recent examples of bilateral cooperation, including Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to Pakistan this year.

He said that the volume of Pak-Qatar trade relations is approximately $2.66 billion and that Qatari companies are investing in the energy, agriculture, food, real estate and housing sectors.
