Larkana’s Amin topples Mukhtar

KARACHI, Jan 15: Unknown Muhammad Amin from Larkana produced a sterling performance to send two-time Sindh champion Mukhtar Khan to move into the second round of Sindh Cup Snooker with a 5-0 triumph at Indus Club Bahadurabad Tuesday.

Amin showed a lot of promise while ousting Mukhtar who was ranked 18th in the championship. Showing fine potting Amin won 54-45, 69-28, 61-57, 76-26, 56-47.

Ahmer Shaikh chalked out three fine breaks of 49, 41 and 70 in third, 4th and fifth frame while beating Qasim Qamani 5-2.

In the best match of the day teenager Danish Haroon was stretched to limits by Farrukh Usman before emerging winner. In fact Danish staged a great fight back from 1-4, down to overcome spirited Qasim 9-64, 2-78, 84-24, 69-76, 32-50, 84-48, 68-19, 68-46, 55-32.

Top seed Irfan Rasheed started the event on fine note when he out-potted Baharat Sitiani in straight frames which included the breaks of 59 and 39 in the first two frames.
