KARACHI, Aug 12: Shah Nawaz’s late winner gave PWD a narrow 2-1 victory over Panther Club in the Pakistan Premier League soccer at City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Stadium on Friday.

Murad opened the account for PWD in the 28th, while Panther’s Asif Nawaz took two minutes to cancel out the effort. Shah Nawaz was on target in the 80th minute to help his side earn a narrow win.

In another match Akhtar Rasool’s match-winner gave National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) a 1-0 win against Wohaib Club.

After a barren first half, Akhtar finally broke the deadlock with a strike three minutes before time.

APP ADDS: Afghan Club defeated Karachi Port Trust 2-1 in Chaman.

Afghan Club made several inroads but striker Mohammad Essa, and wingers missed several chances.

Afghan Club midfielder Abdul Mannan dodged three markers and steered the ball home.

KPT suffered another blow when they conceded second goal in the 83rd minute, Inayatullah cashing in on a defensive blunder.

Winger Mohammad Amin pulled one back for KPT in the 87th minute to reduce the margin.
